HGV Training

If you’re looking for comprehensive HGV training, now known as LGV training LGV (Class 1/C+E), in Newcastle, Sunderland & Durham, think Health & Safety Training. HGV / LGV vehicles are complex machines and, as such, it’s vital that drivers understand how to operate them safely. Our comprehensive training will teach participants all of the fundamentals and more, and as a government-approved training provider boasting high pass rates, you can rest assured that you’re getting value for money.

Health & Safety Training Ltd have put together a detailed break down of the type of licence you will need in order to take this course. We will, of course, support you throughout this process.

Category C: 3.5 to 32 tonnes, large trucks known as rigids, C class vehicles are usually used for such things as multi-drop local deliveries; bin lorries, fire engines & removal trucks.

Category C+E: 3.5 to 32 tonnes +trailer over 750 kgs, commonly the largest vehicles on the road with a tractor unit towing a trailer. These are known as articulated lorries or ‘artics’ and are most often seen doing supermarket and warehouse deliveries, or doing long-distance travelling on the motorway.

Category C1: 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes medium-sized vehicles, such as ambulances and supermarket home delivery vehicles.

Category C1 + E: 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes +trailer, the total mass should not exceed 12 tonnes.
