What is funded NVQ training and how does it work?

What is the cost?

For some programs, such as the governments Train to Gain service or ESF funded training, there is generally no cost to your company for the training and assessment of your employees, however places on these programs are limited and subject to availability. Other schemes, such as Business Link funded programs, are part funded and you would normally receive funding of around 45% toward your training costs. Funding availability for training frequently changes so please contact us for information on what funding is currently available.

Who is eligible for the funded NVQ training programs?

Virtually any company or sole trader based in England should be eligible for at least one of our funded programs; some programs are available only to businesses based in North East England. To qualify for these NVQ programs you must be at least 19 years old, a resident citizen in the UK or EEC for the last three years and not be not be enrolled onto any other government funded program at the same time. We are unable to provide funded training directly for private individuals both employed and unemployed but we can give information advice & guidance on where funding may be found.

Don’t funded training programs take much longer to complete than normal training courses?

Not at all, the basic training period of any training course is always dictated by the accrediting body whether funded or not. The only additional time that has to be spent on a funded NVQ program is the assessments and observations which can often be built into both the basic training period and the learners every day work so effectively no extra time is needed.
