Example of training course format & durations (FLT)

Our training course format will always follow the guidelines dictated by the awarding body to which that particular training course is accredited. However it is often possible to tailor a course to suit an individual’s or a company’s specific requirement should you require it as long as we cover the criteria set out by the awarding body. Course duration is dependant on various factors such as previous experience but is always in line with an awarding body’s recommendation.  Our most popular forklift truck training courses such as counterbalance and reach trucks are accredited with RTITB. All of our plant equipment and general safety training courses are accredited with NPORS.

Below is an outline of the format for our most popular forklift truck training course. These courses can be carried out at your site, or at our training centre in North Shields if preferred.

Course types

Please note that for all of the following courses there is a maximum number of 3 operators per instructor at any one time.

Course 2: Intermediate training - Suitable for those who have had little or no previous official training but may have some previous operating experience. The object of the course is to train and assess your operators to enable them to carry out lift truck duties to suit your company’s specific needs.  Recommended course duration: 3 days

Course 3: Refresher training - Suitable for experienced operators who have undergone previous training and require re-training in order to bring their certification and skills up to date.
